The solution is available under the terms of GNU General Public License. The solution is proud to be among first Linux-based ERP products. The security solution is based on fact that the concept is based on the Active Directory data. On the other hand, Compiere is based on the Oracle database.

Its versions include Linux, Unix, Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Compiere Name comes from the Italian word, in order to achieve them.

Compiere is written in Java and uses the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE). The application provides a navigation bar on the graphical user interface (GUI) for experienced users. The system is designed to work in the internet connections with moderate range.
